What This Project Is
IRL Party Games is a small, free collection of real-life social deduction games — the kind you'd normally play with printed cards, a rulebook, and someone volunteering to sit out and run it. This is the same games, minus all of that overhead.
Why It Exists
It started with one game — a real-life version of the hidden-impostor party game everyone already knows — built to solve a specific annoyance: someone always has to be the moderator, keeping track of roles and rules while everyone else actually plays. The phone can do that job instead. From there it grew into a small archive of games that all share the same idea.
The One-Phone Philosophy
Most party games built for phones assume everyone has one out and connected. This project assumes the opposite: a group of friends in a room, one phone between them, passed hand to hand. Whoever's device it is doesn't matter — the phone holds the secrets, not any one person.
No Cards Required
Every role, task, and rule lives inside the app. Nothing to print, laminate, shuffle, or lose in a couch cushion.
No Moderator Required
The classic downside of games like Mafia is that someone has to run it instead of playing. Here, the phone handles roles, timers, and private information — everyone gets to actually play.
Works Offline
Load the page once, then play with zero signal — a basement, a rooftop, a campsite. Nothing after the initial load needs the internet.
Built for Real-Life Gatherings
Not a video call icebreaker, not a solo mobile game. Every design decision — pass-and-hide reveals, discussion timers, physical buzzer sounds — assumes you're all standing in the same room.
